Drawing – Youth

Monday, 4:30-6:00


Students will learn how to draw from life.  Techniques of geometric structure, contour line, and shading with graphite pencils, charcoal, and ink will be introduced in a relaxed and fun setting.  All levels of experience welcome.


Painting – Youth

 Thursday, 4:30-6:00pm


Students will learn how to paint from life in tempera and watercolor.  Artistic processes such as sketching, creating an under painting, mixing colors, and blending will be taught in an open and friendly environment.


Paper Mache Mask Workshop – 5 weeks

Storyboard of Me – Poetry and Art – Youth

Thursday, 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.

06/15/17 – 08/17/17 (Most supplies covered in lab fee)

Each week In this class, students will be reading a poem that describes an emotion. Students will interpret the poetry and apply it to themselves. They will then create an original piece of art inspired by the poem and their interpretation. Artwork will be made on a wooden 9×9 surface. Afterward, it will be layered with resin which will permanently solidify the piece.



Youth Painting – Acrylic

Students will enjoy learning how to paint with acrylics- color mixing, texture, shading, perspective… Landscapes will be one of the focuses.
